Pepito urgently needs a foster home

Why is fostering needed?

My 5 year old cat has Feline HIV and I am unable to take him with me while I move back to my mom’s for a few months as she has two cats and Feline HIV is contagious cat to cat.

How long is fostering needed for?

A few months

Pepito is friendly to people once he becomes comfortable. Probably not a good fit for a family with small kids who are grabby. At first he may hide wherever he can. He’s the type of cat that is always near you, but doesn’t necessarily snuggle unless he goes to you. Very independent. He loves to eat(dry food is his usual) and thinks that anything you are opening with a can opener is wet cat food(his treat), and goes wild. He is a funny cat, which I think acts more like a dog. Doesn’t play with toys, but loves rubber-bands, boxes or string held up for him. He does not like dogs, but will not fight them( He has lived with my dog his whole life but they just co-exist) Best if he’s an only pet. Tolerates bathing, doesn’t scratch.
He recently contracted feline HIV from outside stray cats, and is fine, but can not be around other cats as he may transfer it to them. He does not need medication for it.
