Zika urgently needs a foster home

Why is fostering needed?

I have had multiple Foot surgeries this year to amputate all my Toes due to diabetic infections / Complications and am again facing a 5th surgery in the next few days, Zika is a 1 yr old Staffordshire bull terrier / shepherd/husky mix who weighs 48 lbs while she is mostly trained with multiple commands, her leash walking is not the best and i am supposed to be non-weight bearing for at least a month. to properly heal i need that time without her but would love to still see her and visit often, as she is in training to be a service dog

How long is fostering needed for?

A few months

Other notes

Zika is a 1 yr old, Staffordshire bull terrier/shepherd/Husky mix, Who is extremely smart, very sweet, loving, and effective but is also very energetic and requires a lot of playtime and or walks ( we visit the dog park almost daily ), absolutely loves playing fetch with anything you can throw ( mostly tennis balls ). she is a ” mamas girl ” does have separation Anxiety and if not properly exercised or provided toys/bones/puzzles, may chew furniture items or dig at flooring while left alone. zika has been around older kids ( 10+ ) but younger ones ( she may play too rough), she is very dog friendly preferably with another larger high-energy dog. we are partially potty trained but due to ongoing foot injuries/surgeries this year have not properly been able to teach her to ask to go out or a set routine, so she does have accidents frequently. As far as other training, she has a crate but is not 100% crate trained, will go in if asked but doesn’t like to stay there, she usually sleeps on my bed or in a recliner chair( sit, stay, lie down, down, release, roll over, shake right, shake left, Beg, learning spin ) she is very treat and food motivated, also a little stubborn, but I can demonstrate how I do her tricks if temp foster parent wants to continue training. She is already my ESA, but am teaching her what I can on my own to essentially become my service dog ( diabetic complications, low vision ) at some point when I am completely healed and able to afford pro training. I am only seeking temporary fostering as u an going into hospital today and will most likely have surgery this week. so I can heal as I am supposed to be non-weight bearing and the maximum should be 1-1/2 months, ( she is being boarded at my vet for 7 days, not my ideal choice, but this is an emergency surgery. preferably a family with older kids, other larger dogs, and a fenced-in yard. But if not someone is active and keeps her energy level satisfied, I would prefer to visit her at least once or twice a week as we are very closely connected. if you have any further questions do not hesitate to ask
