Violet urgently needs a foster home

Why is fostering needed?

I will be traveling out of the country and need a safe space for my cat to live until I return

How long is fostering needed for?

Long term

Other notes

Violet is the sweetest kitty! She is a very social cat that loves getting pets on her head or her neck, being held and snuggling next to me at night. She will let me know when she wants to be held by jumping in my arms or outstretching a paw to my leg. She also gives lots kisses. She is vocal about her needs and sometimes gets a little sassy when she wants to play. She usually has a zoomy period around 3 pm and then again before bed, otherwise I’d say she’s quite routine. She usually gets up when my alarm goes off around 7 (sometimes a little before) and settles down with me around 10 pm.

She is not a grazer and generally eats all of her food up when she’s fed in the morning and around dinner time. I give her both wet food and dry food as that was what was recommended to me when I adopted her. She’s surprisingly not too picky about the dry food I give her but prefers a certain kind of pate. So far, she hasn’t had any health issues aside from needing yearly teeth cleanings. I’ve never had any litterbox issues with her.

I was nervous when getting a cat because of a lot of the behavior issues I’ve heard can come with cats but she is not a spiteful kitty and more than anything just wants to be around company. She has been a furniture scratcher for attention in the past but a lot of that has been solved by trimming her nails, giving her enough play time. She’s been pretty good about letting me trim her nails.

She lived with a cat when she was a kitten but I fear she might have only cat syndrome. The cats she’s been around, she’s hissed at. She did spend some time with a very timid dog who she loved but I’m not too sure how she would do around a dog with higher energy.
