Sassy urgently needs a foster home
Why is fostering needed?
Last year I went through a DV experience with a partner suffering from a mental illness. He is currently getting the help he needs; however, I am finally able to get the help I need but it’s in GA for 6 weeks. I’m not able to bring my dog with me.
How long is fostering needed for?
A few months
Other notes
Sassy’s original owners neglected her as a puppy and left her in a crate for months at a time. When she met my partner (she was 1/2 years old) she was attached to him immediately, therefore the owners never came back for her. That is how we got her. Because of that, she doesn’t like to be in a crate and likes to roam freely. She is house trained and doesn’t jump up on furniture unless you give her permission. But she is not trained to use pee pads and will hold it until she goes outside.
When we first got her, she had really bad tremors but now Sassy is very chill and can entertain herself for the most part. But she does like at least 10/15 min of attention or belly rubs each day. After that, she will just lay in her bed or next to me. She likes soft things (ie beds and blankets) and knows how to tuck herself in under a blanket when she takes a nap. She enjoys taking walks and interacting with other dogs so long as they aren’t aggressive. She hasn’t been around cats so I’m not sure how she will interact with them. She likes kids so long as they are gentle with her. It may take a few days for her to get used to a new environment so she will more than likely keep to herself in the beginning.
