Pixie urgently needs a foster home
Why is fostering needed?
I currently have a 17yo female cat named Pixie. She is blind in one eye, has no tail, and may be deaf. She is not mine, and I do not have the space or time to be a pet owner. She is temporarily living in my bathroom. Pixie belonged to one of my neighbors. I knew her because she frequently got out, and if I found her, I would take her back home. Last night, the owner said Pixie had peed all over the room where she lives, so the owner kicked her out. She will not take her back. She has been very thin since I first met her about a few months ago, and she may be nearing the end of her life, but she is an incredibly sweet quiet cat that just loves to be held and petted, and have her paws rubbed. Living in my bathroom is not a good life for her, and I’m also rarely home as I’m a caretaker for my mom who is allergic to cats.
How long is fostering needed for?
Until a forever home for pet is found
Other notes
I have only had her overnight on three different occasions, but I have found her to be incredibly sweet, constantly seeking pets, and very quiet. She meows a bit if I leave her in a room, but she has a soft meow. From her owner (who kicked her out) I know she is 17yo, blind in one eye, possibly deaf, and very good at squeezing out of open doors unnoticed. I had to bathe her once as she had spent a few weeks outside after getting out of her owner’s house. She didn’t like the water, but she showed no aggression to me at all. She eats only soft food because of sensitive/lost teeth. She is litter box trained, but the owner kicked her out because she peed all over the floor in the sunroom where she lived. In my bathroom on the three different nights I’ve had her, she only used the litter box. She may have some health issues due to age.
