Peanut urgently needs a foster home
Why is fostering needed?
I recently relocated and my temporary residence does not allow pets and I need a temporary home for my two cats while I get established in a new residence.
How long is fostering needed for?
A few months
Peanut: 3-year-old male shorthair guinea pig; tan, white, and black
Peanut is an adorable and hilarious male guinea pig. He will come when he is called and has learned to go back to his cage on command during free-roam. Peanut is a very large guinea pig who I rescued from a shelter about 1.5 years ago. He had a checkup at the vet and no health issues were identified and the vet said that he is a very large guinea pig but not overweight (though I do monitor his weight).
Peanut is a solo guinea pig because he does not do well with other guinea pigs and displaced aggression in the past. He is a very funny guinea pig who seems to think he is a cat. He enjoys spending time with my two cats Winnie and Lotus, especially hanging out with Lotus in one of the cat tunnels.
Peanut has a large C&C cage (with a top) and is also able to free roam in a guinea pig-safe home with the cats around with moderate supervision. He eats a small serving of pellets daily along with fresh vegetables, daily and always has a supply of hay. He loves cherry tomatoes as a treat to go with his greens.
He is a vocal little guy who will greet you with cute little happy “wheeks” whenever you come in the room (or open the fridge if he can hear you, haha!). He isn’t the best lap guinea pig right now and prefers to roam around, but we have been working on this! He is not aggressive and does not bite, though he may come give a gently nibble on your foot!
Since he gets along with my cats, I would love if he could be fostered along with my cats, though this is not a requirement. Peanut is very special to me and I’m looking for someone to provide care for him while I find a permanent residence.
