Oakley urgently needs a foster home

Why is fostering needed?

I moved into a condo believing I could have my dog, the landlord said it was ok in the lease agreement. The HOA then came back with fines and rules that renters cannot have dogs.

How long is fostering needed for?

A few months

Other notes

Oakley is a 70lb 1 year old lab. Adopted from Maricopa County Shelter (7/31/21) and he has been spayed and microchipped and vaccinated. Records available.

Good with other dogs, chases cats. If a dog shows aggression he runs the other way. Excellent recall, comes right back in an open field. He will not run away. Loves to hike and be in water. Good with small kids (I have a 6 year old, 10 year old and 14 year old), not around babies as he has no concept and actually jumped on my sisters babies head!

He is food and treat motivated. He has been crate trained. We usually leave him in the crate when we are away although have been gradually leaving him out. He likes to run after birds and lizards. He likes to dig and needs more training on that. We have used an e collar and that seems to be pretty effective.

He can sit, lay down, speak and stay. Oakley is very smart and does know how to open doors with lever handles. He likes to chew on his toys and loves his bones. He has no allergies and has a very strong stomach. At one point he was on a raw diet and did excellent. He does eat his kibble fine.

Oakley can play fetch when he’s not distracted by other dogs
