Minuet (Mini) urgently needs a foster home

Why is fostering needed?

We are needing emergency surrender of our 11-year-old cat. She is very sweet-natured but has been diagnosed with bladder cystitis and is constantly urinating and defecating outside the litterbox. She has also stopped grooming herself and seems to be stressed in our home with the dog we adopted several years ago. We also have a five-year-old child with highly complex medical needs that has put a great deal of strain on our family. He is allergic to cats and has been breaking out in rashes and constantly scratching himself. We are also trying to get our house ready to put on the market, and the cat is adding a huge burden by continuing to destroy parts of our home by not using the litterbox. We have made all attempts to find a new home for her but have been unsuccessful as we have been honest about her medical issues. It’s possible that she might do well adopting into a family where she is the only pet — and not with other dogs or cats.

How long is fostering needed for?

Until a forever home for pet is found

Other notes

Mini is very sweet but shy around new people. Once she warms up to you, she loves to be petted and will seek out attention, but doesn’t like being held. Right now, she sleeps/hides a lot under our bed. Her tail puffs up when she gets excited — it’s so cute! We do have to brush her a lot because she stopped grooming herself several years ago. She is declawed so will not destroy furniture. She would do best in a home without other pets and children as too much noise seems to stress her.
