Max and Rosie urgently needs a foster home

Why is fostering needed?

My cousin and her children had to move out-of-state this week and couldn’t take their cats with them right away as they are in temporary housing that does not allow pets for the next 2.5 months. They are planning to come get the cats in a couple months once they are in their permanent house. I took them in for now so they wouldn’t have to give up the cats and they’d have a comfortable place to be, but I am also (sadly) allergic to cats so living at my house for this time isn’t really option.

How long is fostering needed for?

A few months

Other notes

Hi all, I’m trying to find a temporary foster home for two awesome cats. My cousin and her family moved out-of-state this week and couldn’t take the cats with them right away because they will be in temporary housing that does not allow cats. They are planning to come get the cats in a couple months once they get into pet-friendly housing. I took them in for now so they wouldn’t have to give up the cats and they’d have a comfortable place to be, but I am also (sadly) allergic to cats so living at my house until they’re ready isn’t really an option.

Max and Rosie are bonded with each other and it would be best if they could be kept together. They come from a family with 4 kids so they are used to being around/interacting with people. Here’s what my cousin sent me about them:

Max (the black cat) is about 8 years old. Super sweet, easygoing, and outgoing. He loves to go out and walk on a leash, he’s gone hiking with us countless times. He’s been an indoor cat only but tries to get outside any chance he gets. He’s always been so good with kids and has even has gone into elementary school classrooms before. Love treats and loves to play.

Rosie (the white cat) is 4 years old. Super sweet and she loves kids almost to the point of preferring kids over adults. My daughter even dresses her up in baby clothes sometimes and she doesn’t seem bothered by it at all. She is more reserved but loves attention. Indoor only and not confident outside, bonded to Max. She has a mild skin allergy that seems to be triggered by certain foods but we have not been able to pinpoint exactly which ingredients. The food she’s currently eating doesn’t seem to irritate it though and we have a spray that we use if it flares up that works well for her.

Both cats do love to play with and shred cardboard boxes but are good about furniture as long as an alternative scratching mechanism is provided.
