Jax urgently needs a foster home

Why is fostering needed?

My sister struggles with addiction and housing insecurity and needs to surrender her cat. She’s scheduled to be euthanized at 10am tomorrow – but can hang on through the weekend if we can find a place to give her. She’s a 10 year old tortoise shell who is highly intelligent and has lived with a small child for four years with no issues. She does have some behavioral issues (very vocal, bolts/vomits food) which is leading to the euthanasia. I genuinely believe it’s a reaction to the stressful environment she’s been in for years. She really is a sweet cat and I would take her if my living situation allowed it. She’s part of a bonded pair and would love to keep together but the other cat has a no-kill option. Please call me ASAP at 734-536-5964 if there’s any chance you can take her.

How long is fostering needed for?

A few months

Other notes

Jax is a highly intelligent cat who unfortunately has picked up some behavioral issues due to the level of stress in her environment. She is very sweet and displays no aggressive behaviors, but is quite vocal and when agitated will bolt and vomit her food. She is pretty active although has gained some extra weight over the past few years. She has lived with a small child without incident for four years.
