Iris urgently needs a foster home
Why is fostering needed?
I have to urgently fly home (to Accra, Ghana) due to severe health issues that mean I have to take a medical leave for the semester. I am really freaking out about having to give up my furry best friend entirely and being lonely when I get back next semester
How long is fostering needed for?
A few weeks
Other notes
My medical leave will last until the beginning of January and I really do not want to have to give Iris away permanently. Iris is a high energy, curious loving little mini dachshund; who loves to play fetch, run and cuddle. She really is so lovely. However, unfortunately, I got her at 5months from a national online breeder (Pawrade) who was a bit abusive with the lack of training, i.e. keeping them housed in a place where they poo, sleep and eat in the same place, never taking her for walks. So I have still been trying to acclimate her to go for walks (she can get a bit distracted/overwhelmed) and potty training her to go outside (but that part has been a bit unsuccessful). She successfully goes potty on her pee pad but not outside. She is full of energy and life and really brings that to whoever she is interacting with. I just want her to be taken care of while I am gone. It would mean so much to me.
