Hunter urgently needs a foster home

Why is fostering needed?

My family got kicked out of their home and I am unable to keep the pet where I am any longer.

How long is fostering needed for?

Until a forever home for pet is found

Other notes

Hunter can be quite lazy. He lazes around most of the day, taking naps off and on. So he can totally chill next to you. However, he does love to run, especially along with you. He would love it if you had a big yard he could expend his energy in. He loves playing tug of war, and anything that involves doing something with you. He also loves being petted.

Hunter is shy and fearful of strangers, so you will have to be patient with him while he gets to know you! But it’s definitely worth it.

He doesn’t have any known illnesses, so as far as we know, he’s perfectly healthy. However, he does have some kind of allergy on his paws that does need to get checked out. We feed him about 2x a day.

Unfortunately, he does have bite history, as well as some behavioral issues. He needs someone who has experience with big dogs that have special needs.

He has separation anxiety, can be a bit overprotective and defensive. He is very fearful going outside, that’s why having a big fenced yard is so important for him to expend his energy in. He can show aggressiveness in certain circumstances, but he doesn’t do it on a daily basis. He can be food aggressive, particularly when it comes to meat.

He’s friendly with most dogs, unless they get in his face or try to take his food. It’s normally other dogs that act aggressive towards him.. Not advisable around children. He hasn’t shown aggressiveness towards any small children, however as children don’t understand the boundaries of dogs, it’s not a good idea to leave them alone with Hunter unsupervised.
