Hopper urgently needs a foster home

Why is fostering needed?

I am homeless temporarily due to escaping an abusive relationship. I am on waiting lists for help with housing and I’m told because of the situation I’ll move to the top of the list quickly. They couldn’t guarantee a set amount of time before housing would be available but they said typically within 2-6 weeks. My dog hopper only has 3legs due to an accident that occured a few months ago. She is the sweetest most well behaved dog and I refuse to give her up . The issue is I’ve only been in South Dakota a few weeks and I don’t know anyone here or even where I’m at for that matter. . Everyone that meets hopper falls in love. I just want don’t feel that she should suffer in the meantime it’s far too cold for her and she can’t walk far. Her only issue is she can’t be alone . It can even be another dog there with her or any person no matter the age . That’s the only time she will chew is if she’s completely alone . She has separation anxiety. But is well trained and a lover. She doesn’t even really bark unless another dog does but only sometimes and if someone knocks on the door. Even having to be temporarily separated from her breaks my heart, but I can’t be selfish she deserves to be warm . This is the only option I could think of so that the both of us are safe and warm while I get together a better environment for her .

How long is fostering needed for?

A few weeks

Other notes

Hopper is a lover. She’s potty trained, listens and gets along well with other dogs and cats and she loves kids. Hopper does have separation anxiety so she cannot be left completely alone or she chews, but as long as someone or another dog is there with her she is perfect . She’s not really verbal so you gotta keep an eye on her but she’s potty trained as well. Hopper was hit by a car a few months ago,and as a result she had to get one of her front legs amputated. But that doesn’t stop her from getting around at all. She is my best friend and I hate the thought of leaving her but I
Have to be fair to her as none of this is her fault. So until I can get to the front of the housing list, I have to think of her needs and outside homeless isn’t what she deserves . I just want her to be safe so she can come home to an environment she deserves. Visits with her would be nice too but I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make sure she’s happy in the future.
