Foster Hero Story: Meet Kathy, Elly Mae & her pups

Fostering a pregnant dog may be a daunting task. Kathy took up this challenge by fostering pregnant Elly Mae. Under her care the cutest puppies were born and here is their foster story.

Kathy, why did you foster and what was your experience?

Elly Mae, was found as a stray and pregnant. The puppies (Jethro, Jed, Daisy, Pearl, Jane, Sam) were born while fostering Elly Mae and they were eventually adopted.

I am just one of many others who foster. We foster to help a dog be confident, to socialize them, train them to live in a home, and be
their advocate so they can find a wonderful home. There are many in my community that volunteer for the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation in Virginia. Our community outreach is outstanding!

It is rewarding to know that after all the work put into fostering a family of puppies, they will all be adopted into wonderful homes. Be patient and know that it will be bittersweet when your foster is adopted into a wonderful home.
