Colby urgently needs a foster home

Why is fostering needed?

My mother is 73 and has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. If she is hospitalized I will need to find a foster for her dog, Colby, a 10+ year old Yorkshire Terrier who is pad trained but not outdoors trained and eats mostly dry food. He’s generally in good health and doesn’t require any medications or special attention.

Other notes

Colby is my mother’s dog – my mom is 73 and recently was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. We expect her to have stints in the hospital for however long she has left, and I will need help fostering her dog as my wife has allergies and I have no other friends or family who could foster.

Colby is 10 years old and is trained to use the bathroom on pads. Colby is not trained, as far as I know, on using a dog door or waiting until walks to use the bathroom. Colby eats dry dog food mostly and doesn’t require any medications or special attention. As far as I know, Colby is fine around other dogs – he doesn’t hate them but doesn’t love them either. Due to his size, Colby is not dangerous in any way and mostly just yips and yaps at strangers like most tiny dogs do. He has a lot of energy still despite his age.
