Other notes
Charlie is a young Husky-Lab-German Shepard mix. He is a very energetic, happy dog who LOVES people, and is super friendly. Meeting dogs off-leash is usually fine, so long as the dogs are introduced right, but he has been known to growl when introduced to dogs on the leash, and especially head-on. Charlie’s ancestors pulled sleds for a living, so pulling on the leash is instinctive for him, but he is getting better at this. If whomever is walking him stops, Charlie will stop too. If you like a fast walk though, he’s great. He has a sturdy lead and a good chest harness as well.
Charlie knows his name and some basic commands – sit, come, go lay down/go to your bed, no, and LEAVE IT. I use ‘leave it’ a lot on walks to refocus his attention in case he’s distracted, or wants to meet another animal.
Charlie is very good about being left alone most of the day. He has several chew toys that can be rotated frequently, and it’s been a long time since he’s had any problems.
