Bruiser James Burns urgently needs a foster home

Why is fostering needed?

I am fleeing a very physically violent emotional and controlling domestic violence relationship and am going to treatment on September 1st for 30 days. Nobody can take my sweet boy in for the time I’m in treatment. I’m trying to get away from this guy and seek the help I need and am having trouble doing so with the dog. I can’t surrender him. He has been my protector from my abuser and I owe it to him to try and find a temporary boarding for him. I rescued my boy 3 years ago when his old owner ended up in prison and now he has passed away. Nobody can take him due to no pet policy’s or other animals in the home. My boy loves all female dogs big and small and all little dogs both male and female. He doesn’t do well with older male dogs as he was previously fought years ago . He is between 9 and 10 years old and is still intact. I’d be willing to have him get fixed while in temporary care if need be.. please help me as I don’t want to lose my best friend!!

He sleeps quiet a bit as he is getting up there in age. He loves his ball and will wag his tail and his whole butt wiggles He is an intact male who comes from a previous rough life. He was fought and in 4 car accidents within 2 years right before I got him. he unfortunately doesn’t do so well with big male breeds. All other dogs and cats he gets along with. He loves to talk and let you know hoe things are going. his previous owner went to jail 3 years ago and the dog took to me and I took him in. He has been my savior and has gotten in between my ex and I as he was beating me multiple times. He is my soulmate and my best friend I just need a temporary home for him to go while I seek treatment for the abuse that has happened to me and substance use. I have shelter lined up for us both afterwards but I can’t find anyone who is trustworthy and able to help me with the dog while I’m gone. He is my best friend and on days I didn’t want to get up he would come give me love and look at me with his beautiful eyes and let me know I had to get up. I’d be willing to have him neutered while he is in the temporary care. I just don’t want to lose my baby and this is the only option I have left
