Bella urgently needs a foster home
Why is fostering needed?
I need to be out of town August 6-17 and I have no one to look after my cat.
Other notes
She weighs around 10.5 pounds. She has a skin rash that was discovered May 17 when I took her in to be spayed. They gave her a shot of convenia but the rash didn’t go away. Since then I’ve taken her to two different vets because of the rash and also because she was not using the litter box. The first vet did blood work and a urine test. The results were that nothing was medically wrong with her. The vet thought it must be a food allergy (she had been eating Science Diet adult dry food since I got her in February) so they gave me a prescription for Hill’s Z/D food. Just a couple days after I started feeding her the Z/D food, I noticed that the rash was much worse. The second vet prescribed Predisolone, Clavamox, and Gabapentin. Bella finished the 2 medications for the rash on July 12. She still has some Gabapentin which will last until July 28. And the second vet told me to keep her on the Z/D prescription food. The rash definitely improved a great deal but it is not totally gone yet. Bella has been peeing in the litter box again but she continues to poop on the carpet.
Bella is such a beautiful, sweet cat. She does NOT claw the furniture; she does NOT bother my house plants. She likes to lay on the couch next to me when I watch TV. Lately, she has been cuddling up against me when I sleep. She is still somewhat skittish – if I pick her up she will only stay in my arms for like 10 seconds. She likes to look out windows but she has never tried to get outside. Let me know if you have any questions.
