Ava urgently needs a foster home
Why is fostering needed?
Two of my dogs got into a fight (their 3rd fight in the last year) and my wife was bitten in the scuffle. They are having some kind of territorial issue. They coexist fine inside the home, but in the backyard, they fight very violently. This is not a safe arrangement for them as we do have other pets and we feel that they would do better in other homes to give them the best quality of life.
How long is fostering needed for?
Until a forever home for pet is found
Ava is a wonderful dog. She is the definition of a couch potato. She is very food motivated. She does well around our other dogs and even cats and our rabbit, but she has been aggressive towards one of our other dogs in particular outside in the backyard. They coexist happy in the home, but outside they will fight pretty aggressively. This aggression seemed to begin after Ava had her first litter about 1.5 years ago. We adore her and she is a part of our family, but we feel that maybe she deserves a home where she can just be a lazy bup and not feel so territorial. She loves people and is definitely an attention hog. She hates to get her nails trimmed, but will tolerate baths. She has been to command training and is relatively obedient. She is leash trained but does not have the stamina to go very far. She does not do well out of the kennel if you are not home, she will definitely shred some shoes or pillows etc. She has been around small children and does well. She will be a great addition to any family and it is completely heartbreaking that we are faced with re-homing her.
